Custom Fabrication: how we handle it

Sometimes what you need doesn’t come off a shelf. The opening is an odd size, the bracket has to fit a specific spot, or you want a gate that matches the fence you just put up. That’s custom fabrication: measure it, cut it, weld it and finish it to fit.

On this page: a horizontal-slat driveway gate built to close against a new cedar fence, matching steel frames built as a set, and a grille made for one wall opening. That last one went from welded frame to evenly spaced bars to gloss black paint to installed flush in the wall.

Common problems we fix

  • Custom gates

Driveway and walk gates in the style you want, like horizontal slats, built to fit the opening and the fence around it.

  • Frames and brackets

Steel frames, stands and mounting brackets made to the size you need.

  • Built-to-fit grilles

Grilles and covers for wall openings, vents and windows, made for the exact opening.

  • Garage shelves and workbenches

Heavy steel shelving and benches sized for your garage or shop.

  • Backyard and patio projects

Brackets, frames, supports and other metal pieces for outdoor projects.

  • One-off parts

Something broke and they don’t make it anymore? Send a photo and we’ll see if we can build one.

What’s included

  • Talking it through from your sketch or photo
  • Measuring the space
  • Cutting and welding the steel
  • Checking it square and grinding the welds
  • Primer and paint, or a finish you choose
  • Installing it, if it gets installed

You don’t need drawings. A rough sketch on paper, a photo of the spot, and a picture of something similar you’ve seen are plenty to start. We’ll ask what we need to know.

Small projects are welcome: a single bracket or a short set of shelves is a normal job for us.
